(ANSA) - Roma, November 17 - A 55-year-old homeless man was
detained on Friday over the death of Norma Maria Moreira da
Silva, a 49-year-old Brazilian whose corpse was found in a Rome
underpass earlier this week, sources said.
Aldobrando Papi is accused of manslaughter.
He admitted to causing her death to prosecutors, but said he
did not mean to, claiming she fell after he slapped her
following an argument, the sources said.
He has been taken to Rome's Regina Coeli jail.
