(ANSA) - Rome, November 15 - The wave of bad weather that has been pounded Italy for days has led to blackouts and flooding in several areas. The situation is bad in the central region of Abruzzo, where the problems in the area between the provinces of Pescara and Teramo are especially acute. A disabled woman was rescued near Teramo after her car was sandwiched in a section of road between two mudslides. The Adriatica state highway is flooded in sections between Silvi and Pineto and the River Saline has risen beyond the alarm level. Rough waters are causing damage on beaches in the region and sea links between Termoli and Tremiti have been suspended. The government said Wednesday that ENEL has promised to restore normal service by the end of Wednesday after blackouts in parts of the Tuscan-Emilian Appennines due to the bad weather. Several Appennine municipalities have lodged a complaint over the lack of electricity.
