(ANSA) - Rome, November 15 - The Italian Soccer Federation (FIGC) is set to hold a crisis meeting on Wednesday after the national team's shock failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup - meaning it will miss the tournament for the first time since 1958.
There is intense pressure on Italy coach Gian Piero Ventura and FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio to quit.
Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) President Giovanni Malagò said that he would resign if he were Tavecchio.
Sports Minister Luca Lotti said that Italian soccer should be totally overhauled, from the youth sectors up to Serie A.
