'Report' claims on l'Unità 'madness' - Renzi (2)

(ANSA) - Rome, April 12 - A claim by the Report news show on Rai State broadcaster that businessman Massimo Pessina got contracts from an ENI-linked Kazakh-Italian consortium because he had agreed to buy troubled Democratic Party (PD) organ l'Unità was "madness", ex-premier and former PD leader Matteo Renzi said Wednesday. "I think the PD has already filed suit...these things only deserve a signature on a (libel) suit," he said on Italian TV. The PD on Tuesday said it would sue Report and the Fatto Quotidiano newspaper, which also carried the claims linked to the government-controlled energy giant, the former Communist organ, and Pessina.
