EC to set April deadline for adjustment or Italy will face procedure

(ANSA) - Brussels, February 21 - The European Commission will give Italy until the end of April to take action to deliver a adjustment in its structural deficit of 0.2% of GDP when it publishes a debt report on Wednesday, European sources said Tuesday. If the deadline is not respected, the Commission is ready to open a infringement procedure in May, the sources said.
