(ANSA) - Vatican City, November 15 - Immediate action is needed to combat the impact of climate change that affects "all humanity", Pope Francis said Tuesday.
Action must be taken "without delay and as freely as possible from political and economic pressure, overcoming individual interest and conduct," Francis said in his message to Cop22 underway in Marrakech.
This is the "serious ethical and moral responsibility" implicit in the December 2015 Paris agreement on climate change, the pope continued.
The "worrying effects" of global warming "have an "impact on all humanity, particularly on the poorest people and future generations, who are the most vulnerable component", Francis said.
