(ANSA) - Vatican City, November 4 - Pope Francis on Friday urged support for countries hosting immigrants in his universal prayer intention for the month of November.
In an online video message released in eight languages, the pontiff questioned how "a country can deal on its own with the difficulties stemming from forced migration".
Francis also said in Spanish: "We must transition from indifference and fear to the acceptance of others. Because you could be the other - or I" The pope also prayed "That the countries which take in a great number of displaced persons and refugees may find support for their efforts which show solidarity".
The video included images of women and men of different nationalities and of the pontiff hugging refugees during his trips to the Greek island of Lesbos in April this year and the Italian island of Lampedusa, his first pastoral visit as a pontiff in 2013.
