'Putting up with annoying people work of mercy' Pope Francis says

'Makes us smile but contains sentiment of deep charity,' he adds

(ANSA) - Vatican City, October 12 - Pope Francis on Wednesday reminded Catholics of the importance of putting up annoying people as a spiritual work of mercy.
"We all certainly remember one (work) that has entered into common speech: 'Show patience with troublesome people'," the pope said during a general audience at the Vatican.
"Troublesome people exist. This may seem unimportant, something that makes us smile, but it contains a sentiment of deep charity," Francis added. This also applies to the six remaining spiritual works of mercy: counsel the doubtful, instruct the ignorant, admonish sinners, forgive offences willingly, comfort the afflicted and pray for the living and the dead.
"These are gestures of mercy and what is done to one man is also done to Jesus," Francis concluded.
