(ANSA) - Vatican City, September 13 - People should talk and listen at the dinner table rather than watching TV and using their cellphones, Pope Francis said Tuesday.
People often "cross paths but don't meet," the pope said in a Mass at St Martha's House, "everyone thinks of himself, sees but doesn't watch, hears but doesn't listen.
Urging people to "overcome indifference and build a true culture of encounter," the pope stressed "at times, at table, people watch TV or text on their phones. "Everyone, at that encounter, is indifferent - even in the core of society, the family," he said.
