(ANSA) - Rome, August 23 - Rome city council's ruling
5-Star Movement (M5S) is still against the Italian capital
hosting the 2024 Olympics, the council caucus leader of the
anti-establishment party, Paolo Ferrara, told ANSA Tuesday.
Answering a question on Olympic bid committee chair Diana
Bianchedi's statement that she wants to set up a meeting with
M5S Mayor Virginia Raggi to map out the "best" possible bid,
Ferrara said; "We have already given a clear answer some time
ago: we campaigned for Rome city council on a No to the
Olympics."
Ferrara said Raggi had already "underlined" that "we must
be coherent".
In any case, she added, "any official communication will be
given in due course".
