(ANSA) - Rome, August 23 - The education ministry on Tuesday
allocated 80 million euros to Italy's school system in the
2016/2017 school year and introduced some new programs.
"This year we more than tripled the sports budget...to 6.7
million euros," said Education Minister Stefania Giannini.
"We continue investing on the integration of non-Italian
students, with specific programs for unaccompanied minors who
reach our country".
Giannini said new programs also include public debate and
public speaking.
As well, the ministry has earmarked two million euros for
the integration of disabled and special needs students, and
another six million to fund anti-bullying and nutrition
programs, among others.
