Cops nail serial swindler

(ANSA) - Venice, August 22 - Police investigators on Monday reported a serial swindler who conned 250 victims out of 80,000 euros via fake sales on the Internet over the course of two years.
    The suspect, a 40-year-old native of the southern city of Lecce who is under house arrest, used 55 different aliases to defraud the victims who thought they were buying cell phones, tablets, play stations and other wares.
    The con victims were mostly men aged 40-60 and include businessmen, blue collar workers, pensioners and students across Italy.
    Investigators also discovered 183 criminal proceedings are ongoing against the suspect in 89 different districts.
