(ANSA) - Rome, July 5 - Beau Solomon, the American student found dead in the Tiber Monday, was drunk and staggering when two other people accompanied him to the embankment near Ponte Garibaldi and took his credit card early on Friday, witnesses have told police. Solomon, 19, a University of Michigan student in Rome for a five-week course at John Cabot University, was pushed into the river after a row with a homeless man, Massimo Galioto, police said. They also said Solomon was kicked twice.
There was no connection between Galioto and the two men who robbed Solomon, police said, but they are seeking the pair among the homeless people who camp out in Trastevere along with him.
