(ANSA) - Rome, May 12 - Italian police on Thursday used water cannon to clear a housing demo from the Campidoglio square outside city hall in Rome Thursday. Protesters campaigning for new housing and lower rents had previously clashed with police.
Some injuries were reported after demonstrators threw bottles at police. The protest was against the housing policies of the centre-left government led by Premier Matteo Renzi.
