Police bust online betting ring worth 10 mn per month

(ANSA) - Catania, May 4 - Police arrested 13 people on Wednesday as part of a widespread operation to take down an illegal online betting ring that did business totalling 10 million euros each month, ANSA sources said.
    The police operation covered 19 Italian cities and probed 107 people.
    Police seized 46 betting centres in the bust.
    The betting ring was managed out of Catania by two criminal organisations without State authorisation, and involved seven websites hosted in Malta, investigators said.
