(ANSA) - Rome, May 3 - Italy and Juventus captain
Gianluigi Buffon and AS Roma skipper Francesco Totti were among
the Italian sports stars to pay tribute to Claudio Ranieri after
he led underdogs Leicester City to the English league title.
"Thank you mister because you have shown that you must
never stop dreaming," said Buffon, using the term Italians often
use to refer to a coach.
Totti said on his blog: "Compliments Mister, you are
truly a great, you deserve all this satisfaction".
Former Italy and Juventus great Alessandro Del Piero
joined in too.
"Happy for Mr Ranieri and for those who love sport," Del
Piero said via Twitter.
"Legendary Leicester City Football Club Champions, an
unforgettable achievement in Premier League compliments!".
Ranieri coached Buffon, Del Piero and Totti during his
stints at Juventus (2007-2009) and Roma (2009-11).
