No walls, barbed wire at Brenner Pass says Austria

(see related)(ANSA) - Bolzano, April 11 - The Brenner Pass barrier will not include a wall or barbed wire, Austrian President Heinz Fischer said Monday. "We need more checks on those wanting to enter Europe," he said. Austria has said it will take in 35,000 refugees this year but this is just a ballpark figure to prevent another 80,000 people from claiming protection as happened in 2015.
