(ANSA) - April 7 - Otranto in Puglia, Sperlonga in Lazio and Cefalù in Sicily dominated a ranking of the 20 most popular historic towns in Italy among Italian users of the travel search engine Trivago, published Thursday. The ranking reflects both the beauty of the places listed and the competitiveness of the accommodation they have on offer.

In the same month an equivalent room in Sperlonga costs on average 88 euros and in Cefalù 128 euros. Other towns to have made it into the top 10 include Castellabbate in Campania, Lerici in Liguria, respectively in fourth and fifth place. They are followed by Monte Argentario in Tuscany, Vietri sul Mare on the Amalfi Coast, Vipiteno in the Dolomite region of Trentino Alto Adige, Norcia in Umbria and Laigueglia in Liguria.
