(ANSA) - Rome, February 26 - Italian anti-terrorist police on Friday arrested a Macedonian national in Mestre near Venice for allegedly recruiting aspiring mujahideen to fight for ISIS after being radicalised by a Bosnian imam. The unnamed man was arrested after a probe into several people of Balkan origin in northeastern Italy who allegedly set up a network of recruitment and indoctrination of foreign fighters, police said. The probe has already led to the expulsion of another two Macedonians and a Moroccan, police said.
Police had also tracked three foreign fighters - one Macedonian and two Bosnians - who left Italy for Syria.
Two of them were killed in 2013 and 2014, police said.
