(ANSA) - Rome, February 18 - Finance police on Thursday searched 12 sites in Rome to seize evidence for a probe into alleged corruption and other crimes, ANSA sources said.
Real-estate entrepreneur Domenico Bonifaci is under investigation along with two city of Rome officials, three professionals and five employees of the Bonifaci group. The sources said that Thursday's operations were linked to a branch of the so-called Vitruvio investigation into alleged bribes for officials to turn a blind eye to illegal construction.
The Vitruvio probe led to 39 arrests last year.
