(ANSA) - Rome, February 16 - The amount of Non-Performing
Loans (NPLs) in the Italian banking sector is a net 88.9 billion
euros, the Italian Banking Association (ABI) said, pointing out
that this was much lower than gross figures. It said the media
were giving a "misleading" impression of bad loan woes by
continually citing a gross Bank of Italy figure of 200.9 billion
euros.
