(ANSA) - Rome, January 20 - Italy has some the world's best bed and breakfasts (B&B), Tripadvisor and Booking.com travel sites said Wednesday.
Italy has four out of Booking's top 10 establishments - the Re Umberto B&B in the Sicilian seaside town of Milazzo, Matera's Ai Terrazzini, Lecce's Aedes B&B and the B&B Relais Paradise in Pisa.
With 125 award-winning facilities and 150 commendations given, Italy is a major player also in Trip Advisor's Travelers' Choice Hotel Awards for 2016.
Among those singled out for praise are the B&B Casa Portagioia in Castiglion Fiorentino in Arezzo province, which was at the top of the Italian standings but also dominated regional standings for the best in Europe and the world.
Also highly commended was the B&B Mondello Resort in the Sicilian resort of Mondello, which placed 6th in the world classification.
