(ANSA) - Rome, January 13 - Italy's anti-establishment
5-Star Movement leader (M5S) Beppe Grillo drew attention on
Wednesday to an investigation of the town council of Castenaso
in Bologna province, where Premier Matteo Renzi's sister is
serving as councillor.
Grillo, whose own movement faces a scandal over Camorra
mafia infiltration in the council of Quarto, wrote on his blog
that Renzi's Democratic Party (PD) faces a "thorny issue" in
Castenaso.
He pointed out that the PD mayor running Castenaso, Stefano
Sermenghi, is under investigation for allegedly threatening
another local mayor for blocking the construction of a new
residential complex in the area.
The M5S mayor of Quarto near Naples, Rosa Capuozzo, returned
to her offices on Wednesday even though her party has expelled
her over a mafia infiltration case.
