(ANSA) - Rome, December 31 - Italian defence and aerospace
giant Finmeccanica on Thursday signed a contract with the
interior ministry for the continuation of the Tetra PIT program
for secure police communications.
The program will provide security forces with a
"mission-critical national mobile radio service", Finmeccanica
said.
The contract, a company statement said, "will provide
police forces with greater technological and operative
homogeneity, in line with the government's investment policies
in the security and counterterrorism sector".
