(ANSA) - Milan, December 17 - The Milan stock exchange
soared by 2% in early trading on Thursday as European markets
made big gains after the Federal Reserve raised its interest
rates. The increase of the Fed's target band for rates from
0.25% to 0.5% ended six years of close-to-zero rates and is seen
as a sign that the United States economy have overcome the
crisis. The Paris bourse gained 2.2%, Frankfurt was up 2.1% and
London gained 1.5%.
