ISIS can only be defeated with ground troops, Berlusconi

(ANSA) - Rome, December 11 - Former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi said Friday during a televised interview that only a ground intervention would be able to defeat the Islamic State (ISIS).
    The leader of the center-right Forza Italia (FI) party stressed that Russian president Vladimir Putin, a personal fried of his, was "a necessary ally of Europe" but that he had been hit by a trade war enacted by the "recklessly behaving" West.
