(ANSA) - Palermo, December 11 - Cosa Nostra has gone back to voting for top bosses after years of tyranny from the Corleonesi of jailed boss of bosses Totò Riina, police said Friday after arresting six suspected mafiosi in Palermo.
The bosses are currently being elected in formal elections by so-called men of honour, police said.
This had been the practice up until Riina's reign of terror started in the 1980s, police said.
Riina was arrested on January 15, 1993 after 23 years on the run.
