RAI licence to be split into 10 parts in electric bill

(ANSA) - Rome, November 17 - The TV licence fee to fund State broadcaster RAI will be split into "10 monthly installments" and put into electricity bills next year, according to an amendment to the government's 2016 budget bill which will be presented to the Senate's budget committee shortly, ANSA sources said. Putting the licence fee in electricity bills is designed to stop widespread evasion of the unpopular tax. The government has also said that it will reduce the fee from 113 euros to 100 euros next year.
