Five Roma people found guilty of enslaving the disabled

Forced them to panhandle, beat them up

(ANSA) - Milan, November 17 - A court on Tuesday sentenced five Romanian nationals of the Roma ethnicity to prison for enslavement.
    The court found the defendants guilty of forcing 20 disabled people to panhandle and beating them up if they didn't make at least 30 euros a day.
    The sentences ranged from three years four months to 10 years eight months.
    The court acquitted two defendants in the case.
    Another six suspects are being tried in a different court on the same charges. A seventh suspect is still at large.
