(ANSA) - Rome, November 17 - Italian luxury fashion house Fendi will celebrate 90 years in business with the reopening of the renovated "Palazzo Fendi" boutique in central Rome in December.
The shop opposite Rome's via Condotti now also boasts a suite for hosting special guests called the Palazzo Privé, as well as the company's first boutique hotel with seven suites. Japanese restaurant Zuma is occupying the last two floors of the historic building, which include a terrace with panoramic views of Rome.
"Palazzo Fendi will not just be our biggest boutique in the world, it is much more than just a shop," said the company's Chief Executive Pietro Beccari. "It is a turning point, an emblem and symbol of our DNA," he said.
Fendi started in Rome in 1925 and specialises in leather and fur goods and accessories. The "Palazzo Fendi" building, which the company has used since 2004, was built in the early 20th century on the basis of a building dating back to the 18th century.
