Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - Milan, November 17 - Low-cost airline Easyjet could increase its presence in Italy even after the planned opening of a new base in Venice in February 2016 and the arrival of new planes to boost operations in existing bases, its director for Italy Frances Ouseley told ANSA on Tuesday.
When asked whether the company would consider opening new bases, Ouseley replied "yes absolutely".
"Italy is one of our main markets. We are constantly monitoring new opportunities," she said. "Of course, for opportunities to be feasible we need to find a match in terms of airport costs and infrastructure," she added.
She declined to name any potential "candidate" cities as she said it would be premature and each year the company reassesses the best options in all of Europe.
Easyjet reported on Tuesday that annual profit for the year to the end of September rose 18% to 686 million pounds - its fifth straight year of record profits.
