(ANSA) - Rome, November 13 - The cabinet on Friday launched a
bill aimed at combatting gangmasters and undocumented labour in
southern Italian agriculture, sources told ANSA. The plague of
gangmasters in Italy's impoverished south, driving poor and
migrant workers to pick tomatoes and other crops, has been
highlighted by a number of recent cases including a woman who
was worked to death for a few euros.
