(ANSA) - Rome, October 30 - Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco on
Friday said that, as the Jubilee approaches, Rome needs an
administration worthy of the city itself, commenting in the wake
of news that Rome Mayor Ignazio Marino withdrew the resignation
he tendered following an expenses scandal.
"Rome needs an administration, guidance, that it deserves,
because it's a city that deserves a lot, especially in light of
the Jubilee which is just around the corner," said Bagnasco,
president of the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI), the
official assembly of the bishops in Italy.
"We hope that Rome can move forward with its head held high
and with great efficiency".
