New tourism agency board takes office after restructuring

'Change of pace for Italian tourism,' culture minister says

(ANSA) - Rome, October 8 - The new board of directors of Italy's tourism agency ENIT took office on Thursday, bringing to a close a period of restructuring and reorganisation lasting over a year.
The new ENIT board is chaired by cultural manager and former skier Evelina Christillin, with tourism manager Fabio Maria Lazzerini and sociologist and Antonio Preiti as members. They replace extraordinary commissioner Cristiano Radaelli, who in July 2014 was tasked by the government with the job of turning the country's old-fashioned tourist board into a public commercial company.
"At last we're turning a new leaf, it will be a real change of pace for Italian tourism," said Culture Minister Dario Franceschini.
Better promotion of Italy's culture, landscape and gastronomic traditions would "create new opportunities for development" he added.
