(ANSA) - Rome, October 7 - Italian city and town councils will pocket around 429 millions euros in tourist taxes (imposta di soggiorno) on visitors in 2015, according to a report by hoteliers' association Federalberghi which ANSA has seen in advance. The report said that 735 Italian councils apply taxes on visitors who stay overnight, via a levy on hotel bills, or on people as they arrive. Rome, Milan, Venice and Florence generate 238 million euros from tourist taxes, 55% of the total.
