(ANSA) - Rome, September 23 - The government has turned the
spotlight on over 3,000 so-called 'partecipate' - firms that
public bodies hold a stake in - with a view to eliminating
useless ones to cut waste and stop possible corruption, Civil
Service Undersecretary Angelo Rughetti told ANSA on Wednesday.
He said the government was looking at "experimental companies,
where the number of directors is greater than the employees...
and the turnover is under certain thresholds". The aim is to
"eliminate empty boxes," he said.
