(ANSA) - Rome, September 16 - The Qatar international hotel
group Katara Hospitality on Wednesday announced the acquisition
of the historic Rome hotel Westin Excelsior from Starwood hotels
for 22 million euros. The Gulf group plans to renovate the
Excelsior over the next five years, but the property will
continue to be run by Starwood. The Westin Excelsior is located
on the Dolce Vita-era Via Veneto and welcomes some of the most
exclusive clientele coming to the Italian capital.
