Giannini says no 'gender theory' in schools

Minister denies reform introduces controversial ideas

(ANSA) - Rome, September 16 - Education Minister Stefania Giannini said Wednesday that the ministry was sending ancircular letter to principals stressing that the government's 'Good School' reform does not introduce the teaching of so-called gender theory. Such theories argue that people should be able to identify as male, female, neither or both. Some Catholic figures suggested the reform brings such theories into the classroom.
    Giannini said she hoped the circular letter led to those parts of the Church to "come round".
