(ANSA) - Milan, September 7 - Anti-immigrant Northern League leader Matteo Salvini Monday lashed out at Premier Matteo Renzi, Interior Minister Angelino Alfano, House Speaker Laura Boldrini and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, charging they all want to "uproot peoples" to make them "new slaves" in Europe.
"How do I feel? I feel like an evil beast," Salvini quipped, referring to a remark by Renzi on Sunday calling those who whip up anti-migrant sentiment for electoral reasons "animal".
"The good guys are Renzi, Alfano, Boldrini and Merkel, who want to uproot peoples to bring them to Europe as new slaves".
"They have sniffed out a bargain ... I believe that today Europe is governed by new slavers," Salvini said, speaking with his party organ, Radio Padania.
