Army officer to visit space for third time

(ANSA) - Rome, July 30 - Astronaut Paolo Nespoli will be the next Italian to conduct a mission on the International Space Station (ISS), ANSA sources said on Thursday. It will be the 58-year-old's third trip to outer space. The Milan native is set to start the mission in May 2017, when he will be 60, the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and the European Space Agency (ESA) will announce shortly. The Army officer will be the first Italian to do a second six-month stint in space, after his stay on the ISS from December 2010 to May 2011.
