(ANSA) - Milan, July 28 - The painting which inspired the Expo mascot Foody is to leave its showcase in the Italian pavilion at Milan Expo 2015 and be replaced by an historic Stradivarius violin.
Giuseppe Arcimboldi's 16th-century still life 'Ortolano', featuring a bowl of vegetables that resembles a human face when viewed upside down, is to return to the Civic Museum in Cremona in September, say Expo organizers.
It will be replaced by the Clisbee violin, made by Antonio Stradivari in 1669.
That violin comes from the Violin Museum which is also located in Cremona in Italy's northern Lombardy region. Musical instruments crafted by the Stradivari family have historically been internationally famous for their quality.
