(ANSA) - Ventimiglia, June 16 - The Italian and French
chapters of the Red Cross will meet Tuesday to discuss Ramadan,
the Muslim month of fasting that begins June 17-18.
The two humanitarian organizations will talk about ways to
help the refugees now camping out at the Italian-French border
at Ventimiglia, 30% of whom are observant Muslims from northern
Africa.
The yearly religious fast calls for believers to refrain
from food, drink and other activities from dawn until sunset.
