Eurogroup slams Varoufakis as 'time-waster, amateur'

(ANSA) - Rome, April 24 - Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis was allegedly slammed as "a time-waster, a gambler and an amateur" by counterparts from the Eurogroup in Riga, Latvia, over his strategy in negotiations with international creditors, Bloomberg reported Friday, quoting sources close to the meeting.
    Greece is veering perilously close to default.
    "Time is running out, speed is essential" European Central Bank President Mario Draghi said after the Eurogroup meeting.
