(ANSA) - Turin, April 20 - A man was caught Monday allegedly
pushing drugs among the crowds queuing to view the Holy Shroud
in Turin.
The Gabon native, 30, was nabbed after he handed over some
doses of cocaine to a customer who managed to make off in the
confusion, police said.
Police said they recovered 140 doses, a stolen wedding ring
and a bunch of stolen luncheon vouchers.
The Holy Shroud, believed to be Jesus' burial cloth, went
on display at the weekend in one of its rare appearances to the
public.
Countless pilgrims will flock to see it until June 24, with
Pope Francis scheduled to visit June 21.
