(ANSA) - Milan, April 16 - Slow Food on Thursday presented an app allowing users to discover the world through its traditions, foods and flavors in view of Milan Expo 2015.
Slow Food Planet provides the details of restaurants and other eateries in Italy, Berlin, New York and Rio de Janeiro that embrace the Slow Food philosophy, as well as sales points dealing in typical local products. London, Paris, and Sydney will be added in August, with a total of 22 countries 'mapped' by the end of the year. The information contained in the app is provided through Slow Food associates who are in contact with local populations and territories.
"We want to cover the whole world by 2018," said Slow Food founder Carlo Petrini at the presentation in Milan. "The hope is that it will also include remote rural areas and little-known parts of the world's south," he added.
The app can be downloaded free of charge.
