(ANSA) Pescara, April 10 - Indictment was requested Friday for a far-right politician on charges of rigging up hangman's nooses in a square when former integration minister Cecile Kyenge visited this Adriatic resort city.
Trial was requested for Marco Forconi, the regional coordinator for the neo-Fascist Forza Nuova (FN) grouping, on charges of "exhibiting racists symbols and aggravated threats for the purposes of racism".
Prosecutors say Forconi rigged up two hangman's nooses on street furniture in front of the headquarters of the provincial government of Pescara July 15, 2013, when Kyenge visited the building.
Prosecutor Giuseppe Belleli said the nooses were "typical of hanging and of the racist organisation known as the Ku Klux Klan".
