Italy invests little and badly in schools, says OECD-update2

(ANSA) - Paris, February 9 - The Italian government invests too little and too inefficiently in education, the OECD said Monday.
    In a report on the economy, the agency said that the country "must improve the fairness and efficiency of its educational system," adding Italy is not seeing enough value for what it does spend.
    The Paris-based Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development added that Italy must also do more to improve opportunities for those with lower levels of skill.
    Premier Matteo Renzi has said that improving Italy's education system, particularly hiring more teachers and increasing spending on schools, was a high priority for his government.
