(ANSA) - Rome, January 26 - Famed Greek singer-songwriter
and bulky falsetto-voiced heartthrob Demis Roussos died Sunday,
media reported Monday.
He was 68.
Roussos, born in Alexandria, Egypt on June 15, 1946, sold
over 60 million albums worldwide, performing in flowing robes
that suited his ample girth.
Despite or because of that super size, Roussos was a sex
symbol to legions of fans entranced by his quivering delivery of
a string of smash-hit love ballads.
His most famous hits were Goodbye My Love, Goodbye, Forever
and Ever, From Souvenirs to Souvenirs, My Only Fascination, and
many more.
