(ANSA) - Detroit, January 12 - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles
(FCA) will sell five million cars this year, Chief Executive
Officer Sergio Marchionne said Monday. He added that the
addition of 1,500 new positions at the company plant in Melfi in
southern Italy to produce Jeep Renegades and Fiat 500X "is a
positive signal for the country" and necessary to meet demand.
Earlier in the day, FCA announced the new jobs and investment of
one billion euros in the Melfi facility, based on expectations
of strong demand for its vehicles. Marchionne was speaking at
the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
