(ANSA) - Rome, December 17 - Sources from Premier Matteo
Renzi's centre-left Democratic Party said the group was ready to
go it alone on pushing through a bill in parliament for a new
election system if Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia (FI) party
decided to procrastinate. Renzi told PD lawmakers Wednesday that
he wants the so-called Italicum bill approved in the Senate by
the end of January. But the opposition centre-right FI, which is
backing the bill, reportedly has reservations about this time
frame.
